"Sunnia - Painting Steps"

Pose sketches. This character's dress is translucent so I was told to pose her in a way that wouldn't show any sensitive bits...
No. 6 was based on one of Mucha's drawings (design for month May).

Tossing up between 1, 2, and 5. I liked 5 the best. The background layout was mostly based on a few reference photos the author showed me.

Start painting!

Girl's body is pretty much done at this point.

Experimenting with sunlight effects... and get horrible results:

Painting the dress in PS. Well, so far I think all the painting was done in PS.

Face too old (she's supposed to look 18) so repainted face. Her hair was done in Painter.

Dragon painted in Painter with the Acrylic Captured bristle, I looked at a lot of dragon references.

I realize I can't get away with using custom brushes for the willow ^^;

So hand painted the willow in Painter, using Oil and Acrylic brushes.

Finished: more work on willow, some little details/textures, gave the girl some shoulder blades XD, and final colour adjustments.
Client is happy so I'm happy.
